More than 450 years ago, William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, England. Half a millennium later, his plays and poems still resonate with audiences and readers across languages, continents, and cultures.

The works of Shakespeare speak to the most fundamental truths of human existence: who we are, why we are who we are, how we get along in the world. The Gulf Coast Shakespeare Company was founded to keep the tradition and spirit of Shakespeare’s genius alive in the coast theater community.
